ROOFTOP BLINKSEPTEMBER 2026

Making every run fair at speed

Rooftop Blink is simple to control, which means the spaces between hazards, the speed curve and every recovery window have to earn the player’s trust.

Speed without chaos

The current run is designed to accelerate from an opening speed of roughly 4.61 toward 8.25 as the player survives longer. Increasing speed is easy; keeping the route readable while that happens is the harder problem.

Gap sizes and wall configurations therefore change alongside the run instead of relying on one fixed obstacle pattern. The goal is escalation without turning later sections into visual noise.

Testing fairness at scale

Procedural generation has been tested across 100 different seeds with 100,000 generated obstacles per seed — ten million obstacle checks in total.

Those tests completed without an impossible hazard being identified. Automated testing does not replace real playtesting, but it gives us a strong baseline before the player ever reaches the course.

Recovery is part of the rhythm

A recovery window of around 0.20 seconds has also been part of the current tuning. It is short enough to maintain momentum while still giving a successful Blink a readable sense of completion.

Runs begin on the player’s first input rather than starting automatically, and restarting is intended to be nearly immediate. Rooftop Blink should move quickly from decision to failure to the next attempt.

Development Note

Fast should feel demanding, not random.
